  • 1. Reduces severe seizures – especially drop attacks (sudden falls).
  • 2. Improves safety – fewer injury-causing seizures.
  • 3. Can be done in stages – partial first, full later if needed.
Limitations
  • 1. Doesn’t stop all seizures – especially focal seizures.
  • 2. Cognitive risks – may affect memory, speech, or behavior.
  • 3. Invasive – requires brain surgery with associated risks.
